Lupus eritematoso inducido por medicamentos - Síntomas

Síntomas:

Visión borrosa
Fiebre
Indisposición general (malestar)
Dolor articular
Inflamación articular
Pérdida del apetito
Dolor torácico pleurítico
Erupción cutánea
- que empeora con la luz solar
- en "forma de mariposa" a lo largo del puente nasal y las mejillas
Pérdida de peso

Signos y exámenes:

El médico auscultará el tórax con un estetoscopio, con el cual se puede escuchar un roce pleural o un roce pericárdico. Se pueden presentar igualmente signos de pericarditis.

Un examen de la piel muestra una erupción característica.

El paciente habrá tomado un medicamento ligado al lupus inducido por fármacos.

Los exámenes que se pueden hacer abarcan:

Anticuerpos anti-histona (usualmente positivos en el lupus inducido por medicamentos)
Pruebas analíticas de anticuerpos antinucleares (ANA)
Examen de células para lupus eritematoso (rara vez utilizada)

Una radiografía de tórax puede mostrar signos de pleuritis o pericarditis y un ECG puede mostrar compromiso del corazón.
