Prevención:

La prevención es muy importante, dado el tremendo número de personas que padecen este problema. Se debe mantener el peso en un rango saludable y conservar los músculos de la espalda fuertes y flexibles para ayudar a prevenir problemas allí.

La buena postura y una técnica correcta al levantar objetos pesados (levantar con las piernas, manteniendo la espalda recta) o al transportar objetos pesados (mantener el objeto cerca al cuerpo) también pueden ayudar.
