Hipocaliemia - Symptom

Nivel bajo de potasio; Potasio bajo en la sangre

Síntomas:

Una pequeña disminución en el nivel de potasio normalmente no causa síntomas; sin embargo, una disminución grande en su nivel puede ser mortal.

Los síntomas de hipocaliemia abarcan:

Ritmos cardíacos anormales (disrritmias), sobre todo en las personas con enfermedad cardíaca.
Estreñimiento.
Fatiga.
Daño muscular (rabdomiólisis).
Espasmos o debilidad muscular.
Parálisis (que puede incluir los pulmones).

Pruebas y exámenes:

El médico tomará una muestra de sangre para verificar los niveles de potasio.

Otros exámenes podrían incluir:

Gasometría arterial.
Grupo de pruebas metabolicas completas o básicas.
Electrocardiografía (ECG).
Exámenes de sangre para verificar los niveles de glucosa, magnesio, calcio, sodio, fósforo, tiroxina y aldosterona.
