Uropatía obstructiva bilateral aguda - Overview

Definición:

Es un bloqueo súbito del flujo de orina de ambos riñones. Los riñones siguen produciendo orina de manera normal, pero debido a que ésta no drena apropiadamente, estos órganos se comienzan a inflamar.

En los hombres, la uropatía obstructiva bilateral aguda con mucha frecuencia resulta del agrandamiento de la próstata. Otras causas en los hombres pueden abarcar:

Cáncer de vejiga
Cálculos renales
Cáncer de próstata

La uropatía obstructiva bilateral aguda es mucho menos común en las mujeres pero puede deberse a:

Cistocele en la vejiga
Cáncer de cuello uterino
Lesión debido a una cirugía que comprometa los órganos reproductores femeninos
Embarazo

Otras causas en mujeres y hombres comprenden

Coágulos sanguíneos
Vejiga neurógena
Otros procesos retroperitoneales poco comunes
Necrosis papilar
Válvulas uretrales posteriores en niños pequeños
