Signos y exámenes:

Un examen puede revelar sensibilidad cuando se palpa el cuerpo sobre el riñón afectado. Puede haber antecedentes de infecciones urinarias recurrentes o crónicas, al igual que signos de uropatía obstructiva o de insuficiencia renal.

Un análisis de orina puede mostrar tejido muerto en la orina.

Una PIV puede mostrar obstrucción o tejido en la pelvis renal o uréter.
