Necrosis papilar renal - Treatment

Tratamiento:

No hay un tratamiento específico para la necrosis papilar renal y éste depende de la causa subyacente. Por ejemplo, si se sospecha que la nefropatía por analgésicos es la causa, el médico recomendará la suspensión de los presuntos medicamentos, lo cual puede permitir la cura con el tiempo.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

La recuperación de la persona depende de la afección subyacente. En caso de que el trastorno subyacente se pueda controlar, es posible que la afección desaparezca por sí sola. En algunos casos, personas con esta afección desarrollan insuficiencia renal.

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:

Se debe consultar con el médico si se presenta sangre en la orina. Igualmente, se debe consultar si se desarrollan otros síntomas de necrosis papilar renal, especialmente después de ingerir analgésicos de venta sin receta.
