Nefrocalcinosis

Tratamiento:

El objetivo del tratamiento es reducir los síntomas. Se debe tratar la causa del trastorno de la siguiente manera: si es una acidosis tubular renal tipo 1, no se debe administrar vitamina D ni calcio para corregir los trastornos óseos asociados con la condición, ya que esto empeoraría la nefrocalcinosis.

Los medicamentos que aumenten la excreción del calcio se deben descontinuar. Sin embargo, se debe tener en cuenta que nunca se deben descontinuar medicamentos sin consultarlo previamente con el médico.

Las afecciones ocasionadas por el trastorno se deben tratar de la manera usual.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

El resultado del tratamiento varía según la magnitud de las complicaciones y la causa del trastorno.

Complicaciones:

• Insuficiencia renal aguda
• Insuficiencia renal crónica
• Cálculos renales
• Uropatía obstructiva (aguda o crónica, unilateral o bilateral)

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:

Se debe buscar asistencia médica si los síntomas indican que puede haber trastornos asociados con la nefrocalcinosis.

Algunos de los síntomas de emergencia son la repentina disminución del gasto urinario y la disminución del estado de conciencia relacionados con los niveles de calcio y/o insuficiencia cardíaca.
