Prevención:

  • Evite darle a su hijo baños de espuma.
  • Procure que su hijo se ponga pantaloncillos y prendas de vestir sueltas.
  • Aumente la ingesta de líquidos de su hijo.
  • Mantenga limpia el área genital de su hijo para impedir que las bacterias se introduzcan a través de la uretra.
  • Enséñele a su hijo a ir al baño varias veces cada día.
  • Enséñele a su hijo a limpiarse el área genital de adelante hacia atrás para reducir la posibilidad de propagar bacterias desde el ano hasta la uretra.

El uso prolongado de antibióticos preventivos (profilácticos) se puede recomendar para algunos niños que contraen infecciones urinarias repetitivas.
