Obstrucción ureteral; Uropatía obstructiva aguda unilateral
El objetivo del tratamiento es aliviar o reducir la obstrucción.
Se pueden administrar antibióticos si hay infección urinaria.

Es posible que se necesite una cirugía del riñón, incluyendo su extirpación ( nefrectomía), si el funcionamiento de este órgano es deficiente o si hay una infección grave.
El resultado varía. El trastorno puede ocasionar daño permanente al riñón; sin embargo, generalmente no se presenta insuficiencia renal , debido a que el otro riñón continúa funcionando.
Consulte con el médico si presenta dolor de costado u otros síntomas de uropatía obstructiva unilateral aguda.
Consulte igualmente si los síntomas empeoran durante o después del tratamiento o si se presentan nuevos síntomas.
