Necrosis tubular aguda

SÃntomas:
- Disminución del gasto urinario o no se presenta orina
- Edema generalizado, retención de lÃquidos
- Náuseas, vómitos

Disminución del estado de conciencia
- somnolencia, letargo, dificultad para despertarse
- delirio o confusión
- coma
Nota: pueden también presentarse otros sÃntomas de insuficiencia renal aguda.
Signos y exámenes:
El examen revela generalmente insuficiencia renal aguda y puede haber signos de sobrecarga de lÃquidos, incluyendo ruidos anormales al escuchar el corazón y los pulmones con un estetoscopio ( auscultación ).
- El análisis de orina puede mostrar cilindros , células del túbulo renal y glóbulos rojos sanguÃneos
- El sodio en la orina puede estar alto
- La excreción fraccionada de sodio y de urea puede ser relativamente alta
- La gravedad especÃfica de la orina y la osmolaridad urinaria indican orina diluida
- Los niveles de BUN  y de creatinina sérica se pueden incrementar
Una biopsia renal puede mostrar necrosis tubular aguda, pero la biopsia raras veces se lleva a cabo.
