Trombosis de la vena renal
Definición:
Es un coágulo de sangre  que se forma en la vena que drena la sangre del riñón.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:
La trombosis de la vena renal es una situación bastante común que se puede presentar después de un trauma en el abdomen o la espalda, o puede ocurrir debido a un tumor , estenosis (formación de una cicatriz) o cualquier otra obstrucción de la vena. Esta afección puede estar asociada con un sÃndrome nefrótico .
En algunos niños se presenta después de una deshidratación grave y es una situación mucho más seria que en adultos. La deshidratación es la causa más común de trombosis de la vena renal  en bebés.
