Síntomas:

Presión en la pelvis inferior
Micción dolorosa
Necesidad frecuente de orinar
Necesidad urgente de orinar
Disminución de la capacidad para retener la orina
Necesidad de orinar en la noche
Color anormal de la orina, turbio
Sangre en la orina
Olor de la orina fétido o fuerte

Otros síntomas que pueden estar asociados con esta enfermedad son:

Signos y exámenes:

Un análisis de orina puede revelar presencia de glóbulos rojos (GR) y algunos glóbulos blancos (GB). Se puede hacer un análisis microscópico de la orina por parte de un patólogo para buscar células cancerosas.

Un urocultivo (muestra limpia) o una muestra de orina obtenida por catéter revelará si usted tiene o no una infección bacteriana.

Si la cistitis está relacionada con radioterapia o quimioterapia, se pueden necesitar exámenes de orina y cistoscopia (utilización de un instrumento con luz para observar el interior de la vejiga).
