Es un tipo de cáncer renal que comienza en el revestimiento de los pequeñísimos conductos (túbulos) en el riñón.
El carcinoma de células renales es el tipo más común de cáncer renal en los adultos y ocurre con mayor frecuencia en personas de 50 a 70 años de edad.
No se conoce con exactitud su causa.
