Prevención:

  • NO tomar duchas vaginales ni utilizar productos de higiene femenina similares
  • NO tomar líquidos que irriten la vejiga, como el alcohol y la cafeína
  • Tomar jugo de arándano o utilizar tabletas de arándanos, pero NO si se tienen antecedentes personales o familiares de cálculos renales
  • Beber mucho líquido
  • Mantener el área genital limpia
  • Orinar después de la relación sexual
  • Usar ropa interior
  • Limpiarse de adelante hacia atrás

Se puede recomendar el uso de antibióticos en dosis bajas diariamente para prevenir infecciones de las vías urinarias en personas propensas a dichas infecciones.
