Pielonefritis - Prevention

Prevención:

El desarrollo de muchos de los casos de pielonefritis se puede prevenir con un tratamiento oportuno y completo de las infecciones de la vejiga. La infección urinaria crónica o recurrente debe tratarse por completo.

Uno puede ayudar a prevenir las infecciones renales tomando las siguientes medidas:

  • Mantener limpia el área de los genitales. El hecho de limpiarse de adelante hacia atrás puede ayudar a reducir las probabilidades de llevar bacterias desde el área rectal a la uretra.
  • Orinar inmediatamente después de una relación sexual. Esto puede ayudar a eliminar cualquier tipo de bacterias que se pueda haber introducido durante la actividad sexual.
  • Tomar más líquidos (64 a 128 onzas o 1,800 a 3,800 ml diarios). Esto estimula la micción frecuente y elimina bacterias de la vejiga.
  • Tomar jugo de arándano. Hacer esto impide que ciertos tipos de bacterias se adhieran a la pared de la vejiga y puede reducir las probabilidades de infección.
