Definición:

La trombocitopenia inmunitaria inducida por medicamentos es una afección en donde el uso de ciertos medicamentos lleva a la formación de anticuerpos contra las células que forman los coágulos ( plaquetas ). Estos anticuerpos pueden ocasionar un bajo conteo plaquetario, lo cual hace más probable que se presente sangrado.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

Si los anticuerpos contra las plaquetas se forman durante el embarazo, pueden pasar de la madre al feto.
