Anemia hemolítica autoinmunitaria idiopática

Es una disminución del número de glóbulos rojos debido a un problema con el sistema de defensa (inmunitario) del cuerpo.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

La anemia hemolítica autoinmunitaria idiopática es una enfermedad adquirida que ocurre cuando se forman anticuerpos contra los propios glóbulos rojos de una persona. En la forma idiopática de esta enfermedad, se desconoce la causa.

Existen otros tipos de anemias hemolíticas inmunitarias, cuyas causas pueden ser el resultado de una enfermedad subyacente o de medicamentos. La anemia hemolítica autoinmunitaria idiopática es responsable de la mitad de todos los casos de anemias hemolíticas inmunitarias. El comienzo de la enfermedad puede ser muy rápido y muy serio.

Se desconocen los factores de riesgo.
