Prevención:

La infección probablemente se disemina por medio de la saliva y el contacto cercano con personas infectadas. Las personas pueden ser contagiosas mientras tengan los síntomas y hasta por unos cuantos meses después. El virus puede vivir durante varias horas por fuera del cuerpo. Se recomienda evitar besar o compartir utensilios si la persona afectada o alguien cercano a ella tiene mononucleosis. El período exacto durante el cual una persona es contagiosa varía.
