La infección probablemente se disemina por medio de la saliva y el contacto cercano con personas infectadas. Las personas pueden ser contagiosas mientras tengan los sÃntomas y hasta por unos cuantos meses después. El virus puede vivir durante varias horas por fuera del cuerpo.
