Prevención:
Se deben proteger los oídos de un daño mayor:
No rascarse los oídos ni insertar copitos de algodón u otros objetos
Mantener los oídos secos y limpios, y no permitir el ingreso del agua al oído al ducharse, echarse champú o bañarse en la tina.
Secarse los oídos cuidadosamente después de haber estado expuesto a la humedad
Evitar nadar en aguas contaminadas
Usar tapones de oídos al nadar
Mezclar una gota de alcohol con una de vinagre blanco y colocar dicho mezcla en los oídos después de que éstos se humedecen. El alcohol y el ácido en el vinagre ayudan a prevenir la proliferación de bacterias.
