Prevención:

La abstinencia es la única manera absoluta de prevenir una enfermedad de transmisión sexual, pero las prácticas de sexo seguro pueden reducir el riesgo.

El uso apropiado de condones, ya sea masculinos o femeninos, reduce notablemente la probabilidad de contraer una enfermedad de transmisión sexual. El condón debe estar en su lugar desde el inicio de la relación sexual hasta el final de la misma.
