Tratamiento:

El linfogranuloma venéreo puede curarse mediante una terapia antibiótica adecuada y entre los medicamentos más comúnmente formulados se encuentran la tetraciclina, la doxiciclina y la eritromicina.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Con tratamiento, el pronóstico es bueno.

Complicaciones:

Cicatrización y estrechez del recto
Inflamación e hinchazón de los genitales
Fístula rectovaginal (una abertura entre el recto y la vagina)
Meningoencefalitis (inflamación cerebral), la cual es poco frecuente

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:

Se debe buscar asistencia médica si se ha estado en contacto con alguien que pueda tener una enfermedad de transmisión sexual, incluyendo LGV, o si se desarrollan síntomas de esta enfermedad.
