Prevención:

La prevención del SIDA ayuda a evitar las infecciones oportunistas, como las causadas por el citomegalovirus. Las infecciones oportunistas son causadas por organismos que normalmente no provocan una enfermedad, pero que se aprovechan de un sistema inmunitario debilitado. Los personas con SIDA que son tratadas de manera efectiva con terapia antirretroviral tienen mucha menos probabilidad de contraer la infección por CMV.
