Prevención:
La mejor manera de prevenir la sinusitis es evitando o tratando rápidamente la gripe y los resfriados:
- Vacunarse anualmente contra la influenza
- Lavarse las manos frecuentemente, particularmente después de darle la mano a otros
- Comer mucha fruta y verduras, que son ricos en antioxidantes y otros quÃmicos que pueden reforzar el sistema inmunitario y ayudar al cuerpo a resistir infecciones
- Reducir el estrés
Algunos consejos adicionales para prevenir la sinusitis:
- Evitar exponerse al humo del tabaco y la contaminación ambiental
- Utilizar un humidificador para incrementar la humedad en la nariz y áreas sinusales
- Beber bastante lÃquido para incrementar la humedad en el cuerpo
- Tomar descongestionantes durante una infección de las vÃas respiratorias altas
- Tratar las alergias de manera apropiada y oportuna
