Prevención:

En áreas donde la tuberculosis es más común, la vacuna BCG puede ayudar a prevenir las formas severas de esta enfermedad, como la meningitis, en niños muy pequeños.

El tratamiento de las personas que tienen evidencias de una infección de tuberculosis inactiva (latente) puede prevenir la diseminación de la enfermedad. Una infección latente se puede detectar por medio de una PPD positiva.
