Prevención:

El síndrome del shock tóxico menstrual se puede prevenir evitando el uso de tampones altamente absorbentes. Asimismo, se puede disminuir el riesgo mediante el uso de tampones menos absorbentes, cambiando los tampones con más frecuencia y utilizando tampones sólo de manera intermitente (no regularmente) durante el período menstrual.
