SST; Síndrome del shock tóxico por estafilococo
No existe un examen particular de diagnóstico para el síndrome de shock tóxico. El diagnóstico se fundamenta en varios criterios que incluyen: fiebre, presión arterial baja, erupción descamativa después de 1-2 semanas y al menos 3 órganos con signos de disfunción. En algunos casos, los hemocultivos pueden ser positivos para el crecimiento de Staphylococcus aureus.
