Prevención:

Se ha demostrado que los siguientes factores ayudan a prevenir la neumonía por CMV en algunos pacientes:

  • Empleo de donantes para trasplante de órganos que no tengan CMV
  • Empleo de hemoderivados para transfusión negativos para CMV
  • Empleo de inmunoglobulina para CMV en ciertos pacientes

La prevención del SIDA evita enfermedades oportunistas, como el CMV, que se pueden presentar en personas con un sistema inmunitario dañado o funcionando en forma deficiente.
