Definición:

Es una etapa tardía de una enfermedad inflamatoria causada por la bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi, que se transmite por la picadura de la garrapata del venado.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

La enfermedad de Lyme terciaria ocurre de meses a años después de la infección inicial (ver enfermedad de Lyme para mayor información) y entre sus síntomas están problemas cutáneos, neurológicos y musculoesqueléticos.
