Enfermedad de Lyme primaria
Definición:
La enfermedad de Lyme es una enfermedad inflamatoria que se disemina a través de una picadura de garrapata.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:
La enfermedad de Lyme es causada por la bacteria Borrelia burgdoferi ( B. burgdoferi ). La bacteria es llevada por ciertas garrapatas que la adquieren cuando pican ratones o venados infectados con la enfermedad de Lyme. Las personas pueden contraer la enfermedad si son picados por una garrapata infectada.
La primera etapa de la enfermedad de Lyme se considera etapa "primaria".
Entre los factores de riesgo para la enfermedad de Lyme se pueden mencionar, entre otros: caminar a través de los pastizales altos, realizar actividades que incrementen la exposición a la garrapata y tener una mascota que pueda llevar las garrapatas a la casa.
