La demencia que se presenta con trastornos metabólicos puede causar confusión en el intelecto o el razonamiento. Estos cambios pueden ser temporales o permanentes.
Nota: la persona también puede presentar síntomas del trastorno causante de la demencia.
Un examen del sistema nervioso (evaluación neurológica) puede mostrar diferentes problemas, dependiendo de la causa. Pueden presentarse reflejos anormales.
