Distrofia muscular seudohipertrófica benigna; Distrofia de Becker
Es un trastorno hereditario que consiste en una debilidad muscular de las piernas y de la pelvis que empeora lentamente.
La distrofia muscular de Becker es muy similar a la distrofia muscular de Duchenne, excepto que la primera progresa a una tasa mucho más lenta.
El trastorno se transmite de padres a hijos (hereditario). El hecho de tener antecedentes familiares de la afección aumenta el riesgo.
La distrofia muscular de Becker ocurre en aproximadamente 3 a 6 de cada 100,000 varones y es menos común que la distrofia muscular de Duchene.
