Prevención:

El tratamiento y control de los trastornos causales y relacionados con el riesgo pueden disminuir la posibilidad de desarrollar hemorragia intracerebral.

La presión sanguínea alta se debe tratar apropiadamente y sólo deben suspenderse los medicamentos bajo estricto control médico. La suspensión repentina de éstos puede conducir a este trastorno.

Si la persona toma anticoagulantes, la dosis del medicamento debe ser controlada mediante exámenes de sangre, según la indicación del médico para asegurase de que los medicamentos no están aumentando las probabilidades de sangrado y por ende incrementando el riesgo de hemorragia.
