Insuficiencia arterial

Definición:

Es un flujo sanguíneo inadecuado a través de las arterias que cuando involucra las arterias del cerebro puede causar síntomas de apoplejía . Los síntomas específicos pueden indicar, hasta cierto punto, cuál arteria está comprometida. El síndrome de la arteria cerebelar anterior inferior abarca síntomas de inflamación u oclusión de la arteria cerebelar anterior inferior (en el cerebro). La insuficiencia basilar involucra una de las ramas de la arteria carótida, la cual se ramifica hasta convertirse en las arterias cerebrales posteriores.

La insuficiencia arterial puede afectar muchas partes del cuerpo. La enfermedad aterosclerótica es una de las causas más comunes de la insuficiencia arterial.
