Se pueden realizar diversos exámenes y procedimientos para descartar las posibles causas del dolor de cuello y de cabeza. El examen físico revelará un acortamiento visible de los músculos del cuello y la cabeza inclinada hacia el lado afectado, mientras que la barbilla apunta hacia el lado contrario.
