Prevención:

El tratamiento de las afecciones que pueden causar el parkinsonismo secundario puede disminuir el riesgo.

Utilice únicamente medicamentos bajo la supervisión de un médico. Se debe vigilar a las personas con afecciones, como la esquizofrenia, que requieran el uso prolongado de antipsicóticos para evitar el desarrollo de parkinsonismo secundario.
