Síntomas:

Los síntomas dependen del nervio específico afectado y pueden abarcar:

Pérdida de la sensibilidad
Parálisis
Hormigueo, ardor, dolor, sensibilidad anormal
Debilidad

Signos y exámenes:

Se necesita una historia clínica detallada para determinar la posible causa del trastorno. Una evaluación al igual que exámenes de nervios y músculos pueden mostrar una pérdida de la sensibilidad, el movimiento u otros problemas con un nervio específico. Los reflejos pueden ser anormales.

Los exámenes pueden abarcar:

Electromiografía (EMG): un registro de la actividad eléctrica en los músculos
Pruebas de conducción nerviosa: registro de la velocidad de la actividad eléctrica en los nervios
Biopsia de nervio
