Prevención:

Algunas veces, los síntomas se pueden prevenir si se evitan los alergenos conocidos. Durante ciertas estaciones del año en las cuales hay mucho polen en el ambiente, las personas que tengan fiebre del heno deben permanecer dentro de un lugar con aire acondicionado en la medida de lo posible:

La mayoría de los árboles producen polen en la primavera
Los pastos normalmente producen polen al final de la primavera y durante el verano
La ambrosía y otras plantas de florescencia tardía producen polen a finales del verano y principios del otoño.

A los pacientes que son sensibles a ciertos alergenos de espacios interiores, se les recomienda usar cobertores antialérgicos para las almohadas y los colchones, así como evitar las mascotas culpables y otros desencadenantes.
