Alergia a los alimentos
La lactancia materna puede ayudar a prevenir las alergias. Aparte de esto, no hay una forma conocida de prevenir las alergias alimentarias, excepto demorar la introducción de alimentos causantes de alergias en los bebés hasta que el tracto gastrointestinal haya tenido la posibilidad de madurar. El momento adecuado para esto varía de un alimento a otro como así también de un bebé a otro.
Una vez que se ha desarrollado una alergia, el hecho de evitar con cuidado el alimento causal generalmente ayuda a prevenir problemas posteriores.
