Trastornos por inmunodeficiencia

Los sÃntomas varÃan según el trastorno especÃfico.
Signos y exámenes:
Las infecciones persistentes o recurrentes, o las infecciones severas por microorganismos que usualmente no producen infecciones graves, pueden ser un signo de la presencia de un trastorno por inmunodeficiencia. Otros signos abarcan:
- Respuesta deficiente al tratamiento
- Recuperación lenta o incompleta de una enfermedad
- Ciertos tipos de cáncer (tales como el sarcoma de Kaposi o linfoma no Hodgkin)
- Ciertas infecciones (como neumonÃa por Pneumocystis carinii o infecciones recurrentes por hongos levaduriformes)
Algunos de los exámenes utilizados para ayudar a diagnosticar un trastorno por inmunodeficiencia son:
- Conteo de glóbulos blancos
- Niveles de anticuerpos/inmunoglobulina
- Conteo de linfocitos T (derivados del timo)
- Niveles del complemento u otras mediciones de los componentes de la respuesta inmunitaria
