Ántrax

Síntomas:

Un ántrax es una protuberancia o masa inflamada debajo de la piel, que puede ser del tamaño de una arveja o tan grande como una pelota de golf. El ántrax puede estar rojo e irritado y podría doler al tocarlo.

El ántrax también:

• Crece con mucha rapidez
• Tiene un centro de color blanco o amarillo ( pústula )
• Exuda, supura o forma costra
• Se disemina a otras áreas de la piel

Algunas veces, se pueden presentar otros síntomas que pueden abarcar:

• Fatiga
• Fiebre
• Molestia general o indisposición
• Prurito en la piel antes del desarrollo del ántrax

Signos y exámenes:

El médico examinará la piel y el diagnóstico se basa primordialmente en la apariencia que ésta tenga. Se puede realizar una biopsia de piel para ayudar a hacer el diagnóstico o determinar el tipo exacto de bacterias comprometidas.
