Queratosis actínica - Overview

Definición:

Es una pequeña área elevada y áspera que se encuentra en la piel que ha estado expuesta al sol durante un período de tiempo prolongado.

Durante muchos años, algunas queratosis actínicas pueden transformarse en un tipo de cáncer de piel.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

La queratosis actínica es causada por la exposición al sol, pero toma muchos años o décadas en manifestarse.

Los factores de riesgo de la queratosis actínica abarcan:

  • Tener piel clara, ojos azules o verdes o cabello rojo o rubio.
  • Antecedentes de trasplante de riñón u otro órgano sólido (personas que toman medicamentos para inhibir el sistema inmunitario).
  • Exposición prolongada al sol todos los días (por ejemplo, si usted trabaja al aire libre).
  • Quemaduras solares graves y múltiples a comienzos de la vida.
  • Edad avanzada.
