El sÃntoma principal generalmente es una pequeña protuberancia indolora debajo de la piel. Sin embargo, si ésta se infecta, se puede presentar enrojecimiento, sensibilidad o aumento de la temperatura de la piel sobre el área.
Un material blanco grisáceo, caseoso y maloliente puede drenar del quiste.
En la mayorÃa de los casos, el médico puede diagnosticar este tipo de quiste simplemente examinando la piel. En ocasiones, se puede requerir una biopsia para descartar otras afecciones.
