Sífilis secundaria

Definición:

Es la segunda etapa de la sífilis , una enfermedad de transmisión sexual. Esta etapa es la más contagiosa de todas.

La sífilis es una enfermedad infecciosa de transmisión sexual causada por la espiroqueta Treponema pallidum y cuyo desarrollo tiene tres etapas principales: sífilis primaria , sífilis secundaria y sífilis terciaria .

Aproximadamente una tercera parte de las personas no tratadas con sífilis primaria desarrollará sífilis secundaria. Esto ocurre por lo general más o menos entre 2 y 8 semanas luego de la aparición de la llaga original indolora (chancro), y algunas veces, el chancro puede aún estar presente.

En la sífilis secundaria, las bacterias se han propagado al torrente sanguíneo.
