Definición:

Es un crecimiento blando de los tejidos (granuloma), similar a un tumor, causado por la sífilis y aparece durante la etapa tardía de la sífilis terciaria . Usualmente, contiene una masa de tejido edematizado y muerto, con apariencia fibrosa. Se presenta con mayor frecuencia en el hígado, aunque también puede aparecer en el cerebro, los testículos , el corazón, la piel y los huesos. Algunas veces, también se encuentran úlceras granulomatosas de apariencia similar a las halladas en la tuberculosis .
