El sÃntoma principal del ectima es una pequeña ampolla que puede estar llena de pus y tener un borde enrojecido. Después de que la ampolla desaparece, se presenta una úlcera con costra.
El médico puede diagnosticar esta afección simplemente observando la piel. En casos poco comunes, el lÃquido que se encuentra dentro de la ampolla se puede enviar a un laboratorio para un análisis minucioso o se puede realizar una biopsia de piel.
