Esta infección se trata con fármacos antimicóticos como anfotericina B, itraconazol, ketoconazol o fluconazol. Se pueden usar fármacos orales o intravenosos (directamente dentro de la vena) dependiendo de la forma y etapa de la enfermedad.
El pronóstico depende de la forma de blastomicosis y del estado del sistema inmunitario del individuo. En personas inmunodeprimidas, es posible que se necesite tratamiento prolongado para evitar que los síntomas reaparezcan.
