Lesión cutánea de coccidioidomicosis
Tratamiento:
La parte fundamental del tratamiento incluye medicamentos antimicóticos, los cuales se pueden utilizar en forma intravenosa u oral de acuerdo con la forma o etapa de la enfermedad. Los fármacos antimicóticos de uso común comprenden amfotericina B, itraconazol, ketoconazol o fluconazol. Los individuos con enfermedad diseminada e inmunodepresión subyacente pueden requerir un tratamiento prolongado.
Expectativas (pronóstico):
Los resultados varÃan de acuerdo con la etapa y extensión de la infección, asà como del estado subyacente del sistema inmunitario del individuo. La enfermedad diseminada tiene la tasa más alta de mortalidad, en particular entre pacientes inmunodeprimidos.
Complicaciones:
- Infección bacteriana secundaria de la piel
- Absceso cutáneo
- Complicaciones relacionadas con los medicamentos
Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:
Existen muchos tipos de lesiones cutáneas y puede ser difÃcil diferenciarlas, razón por la cual se debe acudir al médico si se desarrollan lesiones cutáneas y se sospecha de esta afección, ya que es necesario practicar exámenes.
