Liquen plano - Overview

Definición:

Es una enfermedad en la cual se presenta una erupción pruriginosa en la piel o en la boca.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

La causa exacta del liquen plano se desconoce, pero es probable que esté relacionada con una reacción alérgica o inmunitaria.

Los riesgos abarcan:

Exposición a medicamentos, colorantes y otras substancias químicas (incluyendo oro, antibióticos, arsénico, yoduros, cloroquina, quinacrina, quinidina, fenotiazinas y diuréticos)
Trastornos como la hepatitis C

El liquen plano generalmente afecta a personas adultas de mediana edad y es menos frecuente en los niños.
