Prevención:

Aunque no hay una forma conocida de prevenir la preeclampsia, es importante que todas las mujeres embarazadas comiencen el cuidado prenatal de manera temprana y lo continúen durante el embarazo. Esto le permite al médico detectar y tratar afecciones como la preeclampsia con prontitud.

El cuidado prenatal apropiado es esencial. En cada chequeo del embarazo, el médico revisará su peso, presión arterial y orina (a través de un examen con tiras reactivas en orina) para evaluarla en busca de preeclampsia.

Como con cualquier embarazo, una buena alimentación prenatal llena de vitaminas, antioxidantes, minerales y los grupos básicos de alimentos es importante. Igualmente, es esencial disminuir los alimentos procesados, los azúcares refinados y suspender la cafeína, el alcohol y cualquier medicamento no recetado por un médico. Hable con su médico antes de tomar cualquier suplemento, incluyendo preparaciones herbarias.
