Miomas uterinos

Signos y exámenes:

Un examen pélvico muestra un útero agrandado, de contorno irregular y con un aspecto tumoral. Este diagnóstico es generalmente confiable, sin embargo, en algunos casos se dificulta, especialmente en las mujeres obesas. Los miomas se han confundido con los tumores ováricos, con los procesos inflamatorios de las trompas y con el embarazo.

Usualmente se realiza una ecografía transvaginal o una ecografía pélvica para confirmar los hallazgos.

Es posible que sea necesario realizar un procedimiento de dilatación y legrado o una laparoscopia pélvica para descartar otras afecciones potencialmente cancerosas.
